Why More Couples Are Choosing Intimate Weddings

I’ve noticed a meaningful shift in the conversations I have with couples. More and more of them are choosing intimate weddings instead of large traditional celebrations.
When couples first reach out to me, they often say something similar: they want their wedding day to feel relaxed, meaningful, and centered around the people who matter most to them.
Rather than managing a large event with hundreds of guests, many couples are choosing to celebrate with a smaller group of close family and friends.
Couples Want to Be Present on Their Wedding Day
One of the biggest things couples share with me is that they don’t want their wedding day to feel rushed. They want time to breathe, connect, and actually experience the moments as they happen. Intimate weddings naturally create that space. With fewer guests, the day often feels calmer and more personal. Couples have time to enjoy conversations, laughter, and quiet moments together instead of feeling pulled in many directions.
What I See as a Photographer
Behind the camera, these weddings often feel incredibly genuine. I see couples taking a few quiet moments together before the ceremony, sharing meaningful glances during their vows, and celebrating surrounded by the people who truly know them.
Those authentic moments are often the photographs couples treasure most.
A Celebration That Reflects You
What I love most about intimate weddings is how personal they feel. Each celebration reflects the couple’s story rather than following a traditional formula.
And that’s something I’m seeing more couples embrace every year.
